The main ingredient in Lipodissolve is phosphatidylcholine (PC). PC is naturally found in our bodies and their main role is to breakdown fat and cholesterol so they can be removed. The PC in Lipodissolve is derived from soybeans and has been used for reducing fat deposits in the medical setting for more than 10 years.

When injected into the fatty tissues, the PC destabilises the PC membranes of the fat cells causing cell destruction and the release of the fatty content into the fatty tissue. This is when Deoxycholate (DC) comes in.

DC is another naturally occurring ingredient found in Lipodissolbe; in our bodies, it’s naturally found in our bile. Once the fatty content has been released by PC, DC emulsifies this fat so that they can be readily absorbed into the intestine and removed through our bowels. The removal process does not cause any discomfort, nausea or diarrhoea and the fat is also partly used as a source of fuel for the body.

The area to be treated is cleansed with a disinfectant. The Lipodissolve is then injected directly around the chin and neck area using micro-needles (think the size of acupuncture needles). You might feel some slight mild injection discomfort which will soon pass but the injection is usually easily tolerated.

After the treatment, there may be some swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising, and temporary lumps to the treated area. Depending on the individual this may last up to seven days. Within two weeks, the treated areas will slowly begin to soften while the bruising and inflammation subside. You’ll also notice fewer lumps and bumps while your skin smooths out and start to see contour improvements.

Depending on the individual and the treatment area, multiple treatments may be needed to see the full effect.

Lipodissolve permanently removes the fat cells in the area treated so the same cells will not come back after the course of treatments. However, if weight gain were to occur after treatment, remaining fat cells may increase in size and cause the return of pre-treatment conditions.
